You might find that Invisalign is the best orthodontic solution for you if you want a straighter smile but don't want to wear traditional metal braces. Here's how the Invisalign system works to get your teeth straighter over time.
1. Consultation
You can begin your Invisalign journey toward a straighter smile by scheduling a consultation with your Victoria dentist. Your dentist will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth and mouth during your initial Invisalign consultation to determine whether or not Invisalign is the best orthodontic treatment option for you.
If you are a good candidate for Invisalign treatment, your dentist will show you a preview of how your smile will look after Invisalign treatment is completed. If your dentist determines that you are not a good candidate for Invisalign treatment, he or she will explain why and discuss other treatment options with you.
2. Receive your personalized treatment plan
Following the consultation, your dentist will conduct detailed scans and/or impressions of your teeth to customize your treatment plan. You'll receive an Invisalign treatment plan outlining the next few months of your treatment.
3. Aligners are custom made for you
After your treatment plan is finalized, your dentist will send scans and/or impressions of your teeth to Invisalign's manufacturing facility, where your aligners will be custom-made to fit your unique teeth and bite requirements.
Your Invisalign clear aligners will be made of a thin flexible plastic material known as SmartTrack®, which is thin and flexible. Invisalign aligners do not contain BPA, BPS, latex, or gluten.
4. Treatment begins
As soon as your aligners are completed and delivered to your dentist, you can begin your orthodontic treatment.
Make an appointment to pick up your aligners with your dentist. While you're there, your dentist will likely ensure that your aligners are fitted properly, demonstrate proper wear, and go over your treatment plan in detail with you.
Any questions you have about Invisalign treatment can be answered by your dentist while you are in this appointment.
A series of brief checkups will be scheduled during your treatment, which will allow your dentist to keep track of how well you're doing and ensure that your treatment stays on track.
5. Enjoy minimal disruptions
Invisalign should fit seamlessly into your hectic lifestyle, regardless of how hectic your daily schedule might be! Due to the removable nature of your aligners, you should not be required to make significant changes to your diet or at-home oral hygiene routine.
6. Live your life!
Your Invisalign clear aligners will be discreet enough that very few people should notice that you're straightening your teeth. So, get out there and smile!
